Stepping into the world of digital and social media marketing as an intern at
LOKi was both an exciting and valuable experience. Over the course of my 6
months internship, I had the opportunity to dive deep into the fast-paced digital
landscape, gaining hands-on experience in community management, data
analysis and more.
Learning the Ropes of Social Media Management
From day one, I was entrusted with managing social media platforms, crafting
social copies, and scheduling posts. It was not just about posting content – I
learned the importance of understanding audience insights, optimising posting
times to drive engagement.
Engaging with the Community “Online”
Community management was another key responsibility. Responding to
messages, interacting with followers, and handling customer inquiries gave me a
firsthand look at the importance of brand-consumer relationships. Through this, I
learned how to maintain a brand’s voice and navigate different types of
interactions in a professional yet personable manner.
Analytics and Performance Tracking
My internship also involved analyzing performance metrics. I worked with tools to track
engagement rates, impressions and reach. Understanding these analytics helped me
identify which content worked best and how to improve for better engagement.
Key Takeaways
The internship provided an environment that fostered both learning and
independence. I developed a stronger understanding of digital marketing strategies
and gained confidence in managing social platforms effectively. This experience not
only honed my technical skills but also reinforced my passion for digital marketing. The
skills and insights I gained continue to shape my approach in my current projects, and
I’m grateful for the lessons learned and connections made during my time as an intern.
