5 Things We Wish Our Clients Knew Before Kick-Off

Behind every great campaign is the combined efforts of a company’s internal team and their agency partner. When expectations are aligned and communication is smooth sailing, great work is created and it becomes a win-win for both sides. At LOKi Digital, every campaign we build is backed by strategy, creativity, and teamwork. With years of experience delivering results-driven campaigns across industries, we’ve refined a process that’s as collaborative as it is effective. Here’s a look at how we work, what makes the process smooth-sailing, and what we’ve learned from years of building impactful campaigns for our clients.

How We Work: Internally

Before we start working with our clients, we start by understanding their business, doing research on their brand and clearly understanding their problem statement. Once we align on campaign direction, our team meets regularly with the client’s internal team to discuss and develop content proposals that consist of deliverables, budget allocations and content calendars.

During the creative process, we brainstorm alongside our clients, understand their needs and ensure that the creative strategy meets both business needs and the clients’ brand guidelines. Whether we’re handling social media strategy, launching a rebrand, or rolling out B2B campaigns, our goal is always the same: doing good work that delivers measurable results for our clients. Our track record is built on pushing creative boundaries while staying aligned with our clients’ business goals. This is how we do it.

1. Setting Clear Goals: Good Briefs Save Time (and Budget)

One of the most important steps in a campaign’s success is defining what the campaign is meant to achieve before the brainstorming starts. When you’re briefing the agency, it is important to remember that a strong brief acts as a roadmap. It helps us understand not only the goals of your campaign, but also your target audience, budget, timelines and expectations. Clearer briefs translate directly into the areas that will be the focal point of campaign efforts. Be it better pitches, smoother timelines, and fewer rounds of revision. That’s why we always begin by understanding what the campaign aims to achieve.

A great brief doesn’t need to be long, it just needs to be specific and detailed. This will help define the success of a campaign. Are you looking for lead generation? Brand visibility? Clicks? Understanding these objectives ensures the digital agency can tailor the strategy and deliverables accordingly and deliver work that’s truly impactful and measure the success of a campaign accurately. Vague direction like “we want to be trending” or “we want something viral” leaves too much room for misinterpretation. In general, the best work happens when everyone’s on the same page from Day 1.

2. Respect The Hustle

We love going the extra mile for our clients, but great work also depends on respecting project scope. Scope creep, where additional requests are made outside the agreed contract, can often lead to delays on both sides. When the scope of deliverables is outlined and cleared, project planning, timelines and sufficient resource allocation are established to ensure that the clients’ goals are met. Therefore, it’s important to understand that more deliverables would mean more time spent and more costs involved.

At LOKi Digital, we’ll always be upfront about what’s possible and transparent about how changes will affect the budget and timeline. Our team collaborates with clients to make changes when necessary, we are always focused on producing quality deliverables, no matter the scope.

3. Communication Is Key

In the briefing stage, clear communication isn’t just helpful, it’s essential. When too many stakeholders communicate inconsistently or campaign directions shift mid-way, projects risk delays, misalignment, and off-target deliverables. Therefore, it is important for us to understand the project’s background, goals, corporate identity and any potential red tapes.

At LOKi, we emphasise consistent, open dialogue with a central point of contact from the client’s side. As a result, the person-in-charge should be well versed in the subject area to be able to have meaningful discussions about the project with the agency. This not only avoids confusion but also keeps the campaign goal focused and everyone aligned regarding the necessary changes. Transparent communication ensures that everyone is on the same page from start to finish.

4. Timely Feedback Matters Too

During the feedback stage, disjointed comments from multiple stakeholders or feedback delivered at untimely hours can slow progress and lead to misalignment. The most successful collaborations we’ve had are with clients who provide timely, specific and context-rich feedback that is delivered in a timely manner. This helps to streamline communication and ensures every round of revision moves the project forward according to the timeline set.

For a digital agency like us, efficient collaboration thrives on consolidated feedback. Scattered inputs, conflicting revisions, or unclear direction often stall collaboration progress, making it difficult to consolidate feedback and move forward with the changes. The most seamless projects we’ve executed came from clients who appointed a single point of contact to filter and consolidate stakeholder feedback. This ensures that every revision phase is delivered timely to reduce unnecessary back-and-forths and keep the timeline on track.

5. Clearer Timelines Means Better Work

Behind every campaign lies a significant amount of strategic thinking, creative production, and technical execution. From drafting to final rollout, each deliverable takes time to review and refine before kickoff.

At LOKi, we always strive to deliver excellent work on schedule, but sometimes, we may struggle with unrealistic timelines that can hinder our creativity. From ideation to final rollout, each stage of a campaign involves careful consideration, collaboration, and craft. When timelines are too tight, it can compromise output. That’s why we advocate for realistic deadlines and are always open to rescheduling a launch if it means protecting the quality of the final product. When you give creativity the space it needs, it shows in the results.

For LOKi

Good work isn’t created on our own. It’’s the result of clear communication, mutual respect, and shared goals. At LOKi, we take pride in our process, our people, and our collaborations. We believe in always being upfront about what’s needed to get the job done right.

While the phrase “the client is always right” is often thrown around, we’ve found that the most successful projects happen when both sides respect each other’s expertise. When you treat your agency as a strategic partner and not just a service provider, you get better thinking, better results, and better campaigns.

Let’s build something great together.
